教学设计题
设计任务:阅读以下信息和语言素材,假设你将利用此语言素材提高学生阅读能力,请根据学生情况设计针对此素材的教学目标,以及实现目标的课堂活动。
学生概况:本班人数为40人,多数学生具备一定的英语语言能力。学生能够积极参与课堂活动,合作意识较强。

Your Guardian Angel
Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day he asked God:
“they told me you are sending me to earth tomorrow but how am I going to live
there being so small and helpless?”
“Among the many angels, I chose one for you.She will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”
“But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's
enough for me to be happy.”
“Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you
will feel your angel's love and be happy.”
“And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me, if I don't
know the language that men talk?”
“Your angel will tell the most beautiful and sweet words, and with much
patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak”
“And what am I going to do when I want to talk with you?”
"Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
“I've heard that on carth there are bad men. Who will protect me?”
“Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.”
“But I will always be sad because I will not see you.”
“Your angel. will always talk to you about me; and I will always be next to you.”
At that moment there was much silence in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child asked softly:
“God, please tell me my angel's name.”
“you will call your angel Mommy.”
Teaching objectives:
· Language Competence: students can learn the new words angel, Heaven,sentence pattern:Your angel will,/You are going to … and understand the main idea of this passage.
· They can also express what mother can do for their children.
· Cultural Awareness: Students can realize that love from mother is great and
selfless.
· Thinking Quality:Students can explore the real meaning behind mother's love based on the key information in article, they can understand the usage of the structure, be going to by observation and conclusion.
· Learning Ability: students' interest in English learning can be stimulated by sharing their opinions, also learn to cooperate with others actively to complete the learning task.
Teaching procedure:
Warm-up(3mins)
Teacher sing a song “Mom is the best in the world” with the whole class.
Encourage everyone sing loudly, and clap for them.
【justification】In this way, students can get relax and ready to start class.
Pre-reading (10mins)
(1) New knowledge teaching
After singing the song, teacher asks what can they hear from the song, that's
mom, with the help of picture, explain the word, angel to students.
(2)free talk
Teacher will ask students such a question, What's your mother like? Do you love
your mother?
Then students will have a free talk about it ,later some students will be invited to
share their ideas, teacher gives positive feedback.
【justification】In this part, teacher can help students to understand the meaning of new words, work out their reading obstacles. Free talk can activate the class atmosphere and promote students join the class.
While reading (20mins)
(1)Global reading
Ask students to read the passage quickly to find out the main idea of the passage within 3 minutes.Later some students will be invited to share their opinions, teacher gives positive feedback.
(2)Detailed reading
Students should read the passage again and do the following tasks:
①Q&A
·What's the name of the Gngel?
·What can angel do for the baby?
They can talk with their group members, later some one can have a show.
② Draw a picture of the angel based on the passage
After several minutes,some pictures will be chosen to be sticked on the blackboard,and class pick which is the best.
(3) Read after the audio
Students will listen to the audio and read after it. They should pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
【justification】After finishing different levels of reading tasks, students can get the main idea and detailed information of the passage,also their reading ability can be developed. Besides, students' cooperation can help them build interest in learning
English.
Post-reading (10mins)
(1) language point
Students needs to find out the sentences include be going to or will,and then
teacher explain how to use them.
(2)Group discussion
Students need to work in groups to discuss the following question,
·What's your opinion on mother?
·What will you do for your mother?
Ten minutes will be given. And students will be divided into groups of four.
When time's up, several students will be invited to share their answers. Then the teacher will comment on students' performance. Each group can get a point based on
their performance.
【justification 】Group work can help students to use what they've learnt into a
real situation,and also their cooperation awareness can be strengthened.
Summary and homework(2mins)
(1)Summary: Invite some volunteers to make a summary about the whole class.
(2)Homework: Share this story with their parents and tell their parents what they
will do for them when they grow up.
